looking out my balcony window is my new favorite thing to do in the whole world.
the sky was absolutely stunning today.
a little lumpy,
but the light was amazing.
anyway,
been watching the olympics.
and micheal phelps is amazing!
5 matches, 5 golds.
the USA is doing great.
i'm rooing for them all the way.
phelps has 11 gold medals to date.
what an amazing swimmer.
he was definately born to swim.
he breaks every record everytime he competes.
even with goggle problems.
his goggles fill up with water everytime he dives in,
so he counts his strokes and hopes he's dead on the turns.
if not for that, he coulds definately go faster.
he is definately one great athlete, who already has made olympic history,
and in that, stands alone.
he has the most golds in history.
he still has a few more events, fri sat and sun.
we'll see how that goes.
he already has 5 golds, so he couldnt possibly go home disappointed.
what an amazing athlete.
watched sailing for a bit today, singapore was dead at the bottom of the whole list, with the most points,
which means we're the biggest losers.
they are the biggest losers.
i definately DONT expect a medal.
maybe in the next 16 - 20 years.
once our athletes get to olympian standards will they win anything.
we're such a young country compared to the others.
our athletes are not as strong as others.
we dont have much history on our hands.
out sports industry isnt that big yet.
it will be in due time, but not right now.
singapore has alot to do.
our only industry striving is the banking, and trading, and those basics.
the fashion industry, the sport industry, the art industry are all not developed to its full potential.
singaporean parents have to stop telling their kids to put their dreams on hold to make time
to strive to do well academically.
because in singapore, thats the only way to make it in life.
not true.
everywhere else, kids have the opportunity to develop their creativity skills and become great artists and do well in the fashion and sport industries.
in singapore, if you tell someone you wanna be a fashion designer,
they tell you that you wont make it.
hello?!
look at ashley isham, shelia sim, daniel boey, mannequin.
there are successful singaporeans in the fashion industry.
maybe not internationally,
but there are.
and in 30 - 40 years, singaporean designers, models etc. might just be recognised all over the world.
'you're the soundtrack of my summer.
and your eyes are the brightest of all the colors.
i miss talking to you.
i miss you.'
